2013 was Cyber Aces’ most successful season yet. Things kicked off with strong support from governors in our 2013 focus states. In Illinois, Governor Pat Quinn launched the season with a press conference announcing Cyber Aces as part of his agenda to increase public safety and help Illinois residents find employment. In Massachusetts, Governor Deval Patrick introduced Cyber Aces in conjunction with the state’s Executive Offices of Education, Labor and Workforce Development, Housing and Economic Development, Public Safety and Security, the Massachusetts National Guard and the Department of Veterans Services.
In Delaware, Governor Jack Markell followed up his press announcement by devoting his weekly message to Cyber Aces in Delaware. Watch the video above.
The kick-off helped Cyber Aces Online to its most successful recruiting effort, with over 10,000 students, veterans, unemployed, and career seekers registering for the three free online courses.
Those 10,000 registrants were evidence that Cyber Aces is growing the talent pool by introducing new people to the field of information security and helping them discover and develop their cyber skills.
